LOCAL 532’S NEWEST  APPRENTICESHIP GRADUATES:

Brotherhood Events:

Labor Day  Picnic:

To be held  on Labor Day, September 1st at Rose Park, starting at noon.  Come on down for live music, inflatables for kids and plenty of food and drink.

 

UA/IBEW Annual Golf Tournament:

Local 30 is hosting this year…The date has been set for Saturday, September 6th at Pryor Creek Golf Club.   The cost will be $70 for green fees and cart if you are not a member of Pryor Creek. Tee Times will be staggered starting at 9:00 AM.  Team makeup is blind draw and the format is a scramble.  If you want to play in this tournament give us a call and we will put you on a list.  This tournament is open to Local 532 members and UA 30 members.  Participation in this has been minimal in the past…let’s see if we can get a better showing this year!

 

LOCAL 532 PICNIC:  We had a good turnout for the local picnic this year with several retirees in attendance.  There was lots of burgers, hotdogs, and cold drinks served up and everyone enjoyed catching up with old friends.  Thanks to Lance Garton for organizing the horseshoe tournament.  The winners this year were Wade Michaels and Ashley Welborn.  A Ton of Thanks to Casey and Mike Rudio and their volunteers for all their hard work to make the picnic a success.

 

2014 RECEIPIENTS OF 50+ YEAR SERVICE PINS:

 

The Local would like to acknowledge the following members for over 50 years of membership in the IBEW:  Kermit Barker, Gerald Reiter, Robert Schwab and Bill Yoder for 50 years; William Myers for 55 years; John Hamby, Walter Schleicher and Walt Yanc for 60 years; Marvin Duncan and Arthur Jenness for 65 years.  Thank you all for your contributions, commitment, and membership to the IBEW and Local 532!

 

NEW T-SHIRTS:

A new short sleeve t-shirt design is available in light blue and ash grey…stop by and get one before they are gone…

 

2014 LABOR DAY T-SHIRTS WILL BE GIVEN OUT FREE TO THE FIRST 30 MEMBERS THROUGH THE DOOR AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING…

 

MEJATC:

Long time trustees Larry Langley (IBEW Local 768) and Jim Michlig (Kalispell Electric) have both recently resigned from the MEJATC.  We want to thank them for all of their years of service and dedication to the MEJATC and wish them luck in the future.  The replacement trustees will be Steve Haarstick (IBEW Local 768) for Labor and Bill Paulsen (Paulsen Electric) for Management.

STATE ELECTRICAL BOARD:

Montana should have the adoption process of the 2014 National Electrical Code finalized sometime in mid-September and the examinations will be switching over to the 2014 NEC shortly thereafter.  For those who have renewed their Electrical License and have not yet received their plastic pocket license, the State ran out of cards and they are on back-order.  You should be getting them sometime in the future.

CURRENT AGREEMENT UPDATE:

MDU – ULP against MDU went through and negotiations will continue for the final year of contract.

BILLINGS INSIDE AND RESIDENTIAL AGREEMENTS These booklets are being printed now and copies will be available soon.

OUTSIDE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT: These agreements booklets should be available soon at Local 532.

ROSI – On going at this time.

 

BOZEMAN AND BILLINGS LIGHT COMMERCIAL – On going.

 

CEDAR CANYON ENTERPRISES – On going.
